Istanbul, Turkey – 18 October, 2018 – Innovative teaching techniques to improve learning experiences are in store for teaching attending the forthcoming Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) education show and conference in Istanbul this month.

Scheduled to take place on October 25 to 27, 2018 at the WOW Istanbul Convention Centre, GESS Turkey features over 50 local and international experts who will be sharing the latest developments in education, technology and neuroscience aimed at helping teaching professionals and students achieve better performance in schools.

With a wide variety of talks encompassing current trends in education and designed for all levels of education professionals, our conference programme has been developed in collaboration with the local teaching community to ensure relevance and have practical ideas that can easily and immediately applied in classrooms, said Sarah Palmer, Marketing and Conference Director, Tarsus, organisers of GESS Turkey, part of the global series of GESS shows that takes place in key education hotspots such as the UAE, Indonesia and Mexico.

The event enjoys the full support of the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Innovation and Educational Technologies (YE0TEK) and their conference programme sessions have been organised by the Istanbul Provincial Directorates for Natural Education with sessions running every morning on the Future Learning stage.

Internationally-renowned neuro-linguistic expert David Hodgson shares the results of his long-term research on the attributes and practices of the best teachers from around the world. In a session entitled The Confident Teacher, Hodgson presents some of the techniques he has observed to be effective in helping students learn, providing practical takeaways that teachers in Turkish schools can readily apply to their classrooms.

Other key highlights of this years conference programme include a talk on Model Proposal for Vocation High School by Erol Dem0r, Manager, Bak1rk Directorate of National Education which will look in-depth at how schools can equip students even at the high school level with employable skills; and will hopefully address a critical youth unemployment issue that is prevalent not just in Turkey but the rest of the world.

Accreditation programmes will be the focus of a presentation entitled Moving Forward through Education by Seden Chouseinoglou, Education and IB Programmes Coordinator, Beykent Schools. The session aims to help school administrators create a truly relevant curriculum that will prepare graduates to become productive members of society.

Technological innovations in teaching and learning are also among the important features of GESS Turkeys conference agenda, with such highly engaging talks as 3D Modelling for Virtual Reality and 3D Printing in Education by Clint Carlson, Director of Education Technology, Istanbul International Community School which hopes to bridge multiple disciplines, including technology, humanities, science and math, to foster creative thinking and real-world applications that have relevance beyond the classroom.

In addition, GESS Turkey will be providing school owners and investors a valuable platform to connect with leading local and international educational suppliers to look at potential investments in products and solutions that will improve school infrastructure as well as teaching aides and tools to empower teachers.
